4 Days in British Columbia!

View from the Sea Wall in Stanley Park
Seeing a little bit of beautiful B.C before heading to NZ!

Taking some artsy pictures in White Rock!

Day 1: We arrived in Vancouver and took transit to Langley to visit my Grandma! Taking

transit was definitely a struggle with our luggage, but we made it! That evening we went to White Rock which was beautiful, we had an early night in preparation for our hike the next day!

Day 2: Grouse Mountain! We did the "Grouse Grind” which was very challenging. Patrick said it was 5/10 difficulty but I beg to differ haha! After reaching the submit we got fries at the cafe and wandered around. Grouse Mountain is normally for skiing and snowboarding but in the winter it turns into an adventure mountain.

They had zip lining, helicopter rides, a rope course and e-moutain biking. We opted for the mountain biking. The trails we super steep which was overwhelming to me but Patrick was thriving (he reached 53 km/hr)! The cool thing about the e-moutain bikes is they help you out a lot on the uphills, you basically just have to keep pedaling and the bike will give you all the help you need. Then we took the Skytrain down. The only way down the mountain is by this Skytrain. Unfortunately we timed it pretty poorly and there was a really long line, but the ride down is only 4 minutes, so before we knew it we were back on the road.

We got super close to this owl, it was so majestic and flew right over my head!

Day 3: Today we went to Stanley Park and it was so much fun! We walked along the sea wall, saw the totem poles, explored beaver lake and even saw an owl! We got super close to the owl and then it swooped down and I thought it was coming for me haha! Then we had a lovely dinner with my Grandma, and took transit back to Vancouver for the night. We wanted to stay in Vancouver before our flight so that we have a quick ride to the airport and a place to keep our bags. We leave tomorrow and I can not believe it!

Day 4: Today we went to Granville island before our flight. We went to the public market and I had some super yummy perogies, then we shopped around a bit, checked out the floating homes and the marina. We stored our bags at the hotel we stayed at the night before, grabbed an early dinner at 4:00 then picked up our bags and headed to the airport. It is super crazy that we are leaving already time has flown by but I am super excited for this experience!

The floating homes on Granville Island!

Overall I think having a mini trip in Vancouver before New Zealand was really nice because it got us in the groove of traveling and we got to see B.C. which was a great bonus!
